First Snow

It's January 18th and this is the first real snow of the season. The whole day was exciting for Katherine. Grandpa stopped by on his way through New Jersey and took us to lunch at McDonald's. Katherine sat like a big girl next to me in the booth and sucked the life out of two french fries. How is it possible that she smells like a french fry now? "Eu du fry oil"

And when we were walking out of McDonald's, the snow started. Dad got back on the road headed south and Katherine ate her lunch. The snow didn't look like it was stopping, so I bundled up Katherine in her snowsuit and headed outside. Who knows when the next snow will be! She had a blast! She particularly liked it when a snowflake landed on her nose. A picture of her in her suit is below. I call it "I can't put my arms down!" Thanks go out to the Swanholm family for the snowsuit.

The snow has continued off an on all afternoon. Mason has the right idea and is curled up snoozing on our bed. I on the other hand feel like baking. Why is it that I feel like baking when the weather turns cold? Anyway, I thought I'd also include a picture of "Little K" from the other day.

7 Months Old!

Is Katherine 7 months old already? It's amazing how much she has grown and how quickly she has learned new skills and abilities. She's trying to form letter sounds with her mouth and is currently making a "pah" type of P sound. We're not sure if she's mimicking a pop sound that we make to her alot, or the word "poopie", which also comes up a lot in our house. That would be a fun first word!

I fear we're going to have our hands full with this little girl. She is quite a flirt and party animal. She was awake to ring in the new year and had an absolute ball! If there is socializing going on, she wants to be a part of it.

Here are two pictures from this week.
